Bikepark Leogang seduces with new highlights

Development of „Bongo-Bongo“-trail and new „Lumberjack-line“

Leogang, Austria, July 20th 2012 – As one of just eleven bike parks worldwide with the „Kona Groove approved“-quality sign, the Bikepark Leogang ranks among the most renowned and professional. The development of the freeride-trail named „Bongo-Bongo“ at the Austrian resort characterizes itself as a playground for all ages and skill levels. Beyond freeriding, the bike park as well as the whole region functions as the venue for THE bike event of the year – the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships 2012 in Saalfelden Leogang.

For many reasons bike parks are great attractions, even better if operators are willing to continuously invest in trail care and development. This is exactly what the operators at Bikepark Leogang are experts at: The challenging top class freeride trail „Bongo-Bongo“ was recently extended through the integration of a new and costly trail section including some new north shore elements and drops. This is by far not all: The new established „Lumberjack-line“ replaces the dual-slalom course and riders will see eight drops with heights between 1 to 4,5 meters in a distance of just 350 meters. Moreover two step-downs and a 4,5 meter high wall ride will enforce your riding experience in Leogang. All obstacles are made for advanced riders as well as for adept experts. This new development is a good reason to discover Bikepark Leogang and its beautiful surroundings in the heart of the Austrian Alps.

The region Saalfelden Leogang offers attractive and favorable accommodation possibilities. At the end of August the region will see one of the absolute bike highlights of this year, the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships 2012. Between August 29th and September 9th a visit to the Salzburger Land is definitely worth it: During this time we will see, if Aaron Gwin can dominate the World Championships just as he has done in the Downhill World Cup and follow the battle between professional riders, Emmeline Ragot and Rachel Atherton. Furthermore on exciting XC courses, veterans like Sabine Spitz and Julien Absalom will have to compete against many young bloods like Julie Bresset, Gerhard Kerschbaumer and Alban Lakata. Alongside these competitive disciplines we will also be able to witness the impressive technical skills of the top trials riders as they too will battle it out for the world championship. The actual design of the 4X course – built by none other than 4X legend Guido Tschugg – further defines the profile of Bikepark Leogang as a demanding and diverse arena for the World Championships.
